Register a Vehicle for On-Campus Pay



  • Disability stalls, red curbs, and loading zones are restricted at all times.
  • Service stalls, official stalls, and other specialty stalls are enforced as posted.
  • Signs that say “anytime” include Sundays and holidays.
  • Other parking areas are not restricted to BYU registered vehicles on week-ends and University recognized holidays.
  • Holidays include: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Pioneer Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.


  • "A" lots 1 through 17 and Lot 50 will remain restricted to “A” registration holders during academic breaks-- between the end of finals and the first day of classes of the new semester.
  • Visitor and timed parking in lots 26 and 2 are enforced as usual.
  • Parking in all other lots will be available to anyone on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • All other regulations will be enforced (disability, service, official, red curb, out of stall, etc).


Traffic and parking rules will be enforced during finals and reading days (including Saturdays, when applicable).  During commencement and convocations, Lots 1 through 17 and Lot 50 will be held for employees of the University.  All other lots will be opened to the public.

MAPS OF CAMPUS AREAS: The parking Lot maps listed on the police web page are up to date.  The signage will be followed for parking authorizations.  Please be alert for parking signage.

CONSTRUCTION: New construction may impact parking areas. Please be aware of signage and closures marked by barricades and fencing.  Pay attention to all temporary signage. 

Heritage Halls construction continues. There will be temporary disruptions of traffic and parking as construction progresses.  Please be patient. 

SCHOOL BUS ROUTES AND PARKING:  pull down the "Parking" tab, above then select the "Services" option, and select "Bus Routes and Parking" to see the policy pertaining to school buses coming to campus.  There is also a link to maps that will help you understand the policy.

SKATEBOARDERS AND SCOOTERS:  Please remember that skateboards, in-line skates, roller skates, razor scooters and all other "like" devices are prohibited from being used on ALL BYU property all of the time.  Citations may be written which are processed in the Provo Circuit Court.

PEDESTRIANS: Please don't gamble with your health and safety.   Use crosswalks and wait for signals before crossing. Crossing against the signal is dangerous and could also result in a citation. Don't cross in the areas around the traffic control gates and traffic booths on South Campus Drive and West Campus Drive.

BICYCLES: Remember that when riding a bicycle, you are considered a "vehicle." As such you must stop for stop signs, traffic lights, signal your intent to make turns and conform to all other traffic regulations. You are also to ride on the right hand side of the roadway. Bicycles must be equipped with headlights and taillights if ridden at night. PLEASE BE SAFE!


  • South Campus Drive remain attentive  for construction areas.
  • South Campus Control booth: Please stop and converse with booth officer. The officer will control access  allowed through the booth.
  • West Campus Control booth: Please stop and converse with booth officer. Faculty and staff personnel are required to show their University ID card to pass through the entrance and park. Faculty/Staff personnel may be dropped off by a spouse, but pick-up will need to occur along the curb at the north side of the JKB.
  • Drop-Off Zone: West Campus Drive, from the crosswalk in front of the Hinckley Center to the traffic control booth will be enforced as a "NO DROP-OFF/PICK-UP ZONE." The small portion of Lot 16 along the west side of the JKB and north of the TMCB will also be restricted as a "NO DROP-OFF/PICK-UP ZONE."


  •  "DROP-OFF/PICK-UP ZONE"  Please stop and converse with booth officer. The booth officer controls access to the pick-up zone.  The pick-up zone has been identified in the main portion of Lot 16A, at the south curb. Follow the signs posted.
  • Faculty/Staff Dependents: are not allowed to use the "A" zone privilege provided employees. Officers will check BYU ID's at the control booths, and will also spot-check in other "A" zone parking lots to verify university employment status.
  • Heritage Halls Residents: There has been limited parking in Heritage, Parking authorizations are for "B" Lots only.   Please refer to parking map for location.   
  • Helaman Halls: residents are not permitted to park in any of the areas around Heritage Halls.
  • Enterprise Car Share: Two vehicles are available on campus for hourly rentals.  This program is available to anyone 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.  The vehicles are located outside Heritage building #9 and outside the main doors of the Cannon Center in Helaman Halls.  Register for the program by clicking HERE.



Departments inviting guests need to co-ordinate parking for those visitors with the Parking Office.  Parking privileges can be granted on a limited basis for these guests.  please send an e-mail  to  Include your contact information, the guests name, vehicle description and license plate number, and  a short reason for the request.


Conferences, lectures, or other events that will bring groups of people to campus need to be co-ordinated  campus scheduling and with the Parking Office. Please go to and complete the form.

The request must be made two (2) weeks in advance.The requests will then  be reviewed by University Police.
