Agency Assist BYU Police were sent to check out a possible brush fire near the Y Trailhead. After searching the area, BYU officers found the fire was actually much farther away, near Khyv Peak. Provo Fire and Provo Police handled the situation from there.
Door Alarm An officer responded to a door alarm at the Smith Field House. Security cameras showed someone leaving the area about 20 minutes earlier, but the door was not secured properly. The officer checked the door and confirmed it was locked and secure.
Citizen Contact A caller thought their car had been towed after parking overnight in Lot 20. Officers searched nearby lots and found the car in Lot 23.
Juvenile Problem Staff at an FSY event reported that a teenage boy had sent photos of himself and other boys in their underwear to a teenage girl at the same event. FSY staff said they did not believe a crime occurred but wanted the situation documented. They were given a case number and told to call back if the incident needed further investigation.
Found Property Someone found a debit card on the ground and contacted the owner. She asked if it be turned into BYU Police since she would be on campus soon. The owner stopped by the BYU Police Department, where her debit card was returned to her.
Sick Person Provo Fire and BYU Officers responded to help someone who wasn’t feeling well due to a medical disorder. Medics checked on the student and contacted their parents. The student did not need to go to the hospital. Some friends came to assist the student in getting back to his dorm.
