Lewdness
BYU police dispatchers monitored security cameras around Budge Hall following reports of planned pranks. During their observation, they witnessed a male repeatedly expose his genitals in public. The individual was identified and brought to the BYU police station for questioning, where he waived his Miranda rights. Subsequently, he was arrested and taken to the Utah County Jail on charges of lewdness.

Carbon Monoxide Alarm
A carbon monoxide (CO) alarm was triggered at the Riviera apartment complex. Provo Fire Department responded to the situation and conducted a thorough check of the apartment for any signs of carbon monoxide gas. Their assessment revealed no elevated levels of CO in the unit, indicating that the alarm was likely faulty. Following the incident, housing management was contacted to address the issue and arrange for repairs to the defective CO alarm.

Welfare Check
Police responded to Wymount Terrace following a report of screaming from an apartment. Upon arrival, they discovered that a verbal argument had occurred between siblings, one of whom was a juvenile. No physical violence was involved, and the situation had already de-escalated, with the parties separating. The mother of the siblings arrived and agreed to take the younger sibling to a different location for the night to help calm tensions.

Family Problem
An officer received a phone report regarding a family dispute involving a laptop computer. The complainant reported that his brother-in-law had taken back a laptop he originally gifted to his sister without permission, breaching their trust. After discussing various resolution options, the complainant and his wife decided to handle the matter privately within the family, enlisting the help of other relatives to resolve the disagreement, thus no further police action was required.

Welfare Check
A concerned citizen reported witnessing a vehicle speeding through the roundabout at the Wilkinson Student Center, with a passenger allegedly screaming for help. Campus security used surveillance cameras and license plate readers to identify the vehicle. A police officer then contacted the individuals involved, confirming their safety. They clarified that the incident was a prank, and no further action was taken.

Public Peace
Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a man yelling racially discriminatory comments near the Life Science Building. Upon arrival, an officer, with the vehicle window down, confirmed hearing a male voice using racial slurs. The officer located a man near the Benson Building, who initially refused to provide identification but eventually complied. The man denied making any racist remarks and expressed frustration over President Trump’s unfulfilled campaign promises. Despite his claims of visiting friends in Utah, he did not answer further questions regarding his presence on campus. After officers explained the complaint, they advised him to leave, and he stated he had called an Uber and would wait off-campus for his ride.
