Information
BYU Police responded to a report of possible criminal mischief at the LSB bike racks after a third-party observer claimed a bicycle had been intentionally damaged. Upon investigation, an officer discovered a bike with a broken rear mudflap, but it appeared to be tipped over, suggesting accidental damage rather than vandalism. Since the owner of the bike is unknown, the case will be closed unless a victim comes forward.

Medical
Emergency responders were summoned to the Wilkinson Student Center following an incident involving a student employee at Cougar Eat who sustained burns on her right arm and leg. Upon arrival, an officer noted the employee was receiving care from her supervisors, who explained that the injuries occurred while she was attempting to retrieve a tray of hot beans, leading to a spill that caused the burns. Provo Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter and transported the injured student to Utah Valley Hospital for further treatment. The officer also coordinated with dispatch to notify BYU Risk Management about the incident.

Civil Problem
Officers responded to a report of a landscaping company’s use of water associated with BYU campus property near the Riviera apartments. Upon arrival, officers contacted the landscaping employees, who confirmed they had been instructed by a BYU housing staff member to disconnect the water, which had already been done. Ongoing construction in the area involved Provo Power and an excavation company, while the landscaping crew was in the process of delivering gravel and briefly connected a hose to minimize dust. Officers informed the foreman to seek approval from housing for any future connections, despite previous permissions. The crew accepted a nearby water spigot on a different property to avoid further issues with BYU property, and it was noted that no additional water was needed that day.
