Robbery – Alarm Officers were dispatched to the Richards Building in response to a robbery alarm triggered at the information desk. Upon arrival, they observed an employee in the office rummaging through drawers, mistakenly believing he was attempting to open a roll-up door. It turns out he had accidentally activated the panic button instead. Officers reset the alarm system, determining the incident was a result of employee error rather than an actual robbery.
Accident An officer responded to a minor traffic accident in the MB parking lot 27, where a Dodge Dakota scraped the side of a Kia Telluride while attempting to park. The damage was minimal. Both drivers exchanged insurance information, and the incident was officially documented. Digital pictures and exchange details are available in the report file.
Medical During a convocation at the Marriott Center, an individual suddenly fell, prompting immediate attention from an on-site officer. The Provo Fire Department quickly responded to provide medical assistance to the fallen person.
Disturbance Officers responded to a complaint at Lot 43 regarding skateboarders skating near parked vehicles, raising concerns about potential damage. Upon arrival, the officers conducted an extra patrol of the area but found that the skateboarders had already left. Officers then continued to monitor the lot, conducting additional patrols, but had no further contact with any individuals.
Medical Events During an event at the Marriott Center, two additional medical incidents were reported to police and EMS. One individual suffered a fall, while another older adult male experienced chest pain. Provo Fire and BYU EMS responded to both calls for assistance.
