Fire Alarm An officer responded to a fire alarm at Wymount Terrace. The alarm was determined to be caused by cooking. A fire technician responded and silenced the alarm. The fire technician was made aware that the dispatch system was displaying an incorrect residence. No further action was necessary.
Assault An officer responded to a report of a delayed assault at the Brimhall building. The officer met with BYU employees who reported that during commencement, a former staff member who no longer works for the University was visiting the Brimhall building. This individual physically grabbed the victim by her upper arms and shook her, blaming her for her husband's termination from the University. The victim reported that this assault caused pain to her arms, which lasted for 20 minutes. This case will be referred to detectives for additional follow-up.
Suspicious Officers responded to the Y Trail regarding a report of a weapons offense. The reporting party observed a male on the trail carrying an ax. There was no reported threat, and the call was delayed by two hours. The male was not located.
Theft Officers responded to a delayed bicycle theft at WP. No serial number was provided and there is no suspect information.
Criminal Mischief During a patrol of East Campus, an officer found a broken window on the north side of the building and graffiti on the outer southwest corner near the gate. The officer is aware of an earlier incident report of graffiti, but the building care team had reported it as having been removed. This graffiti might be new or have been overlooked by building care.
