Unsecured Door An officer responded to the Brewster Building on a held-door 100. The officer secured the door and performed a security check of the property.
Unsecured Gate During a routine patrol, an officer discovered the main gate at the NCAA Track open and unsecure. The officer checked the facility but did not find anyone present. Afterward, the officer closed and locked the gate, securing the premises.
Fire – Smoke Alarm Report of a Fire at WyMount International Housing. A caller reported a problem with an appliance plug in the residence. No active fire was observed, but a fire extinguisher had been deployed on a smoking appliance, believed to be a crock pot. Provo Fire/EMS responded, contacted the resident, and confirmed there was no medical need or ongoing emergency. They assisted in clearing fumes from the apartment using their fan equipment. The resident suspects the crock pot caused the incident. Housing facilities were notified to replace or recharge the fire extinguisher.
Animal Problem An officer responded to a report of ducklings trapped in a storm drain. Upon arrival, the officer observed the wildlife within the drain and attempted to retrieve them. However, the ducks moved further down the pipe out of sight, and the attempt was unsuccessful. Due to safety concerns and the inaccessibility of the location, the effort was concluded without rescue.
Breathing Problem An officer assisted medical personnel with a 20-year-old female patient experiencing sudden difficulty breathing. The patient has prescribed medication and an inhaler. After evaluation on scene by Provo paramedics, her symptoms improved following the use of her inhaler and medication, and she was later released.
Trespassing Three males were seen by MTC security leaving the MTC grounds. One of these individuals was seen on the roof of the UPB at which time MTC security contact BYU police. The suspect was located and identified by police and later trespassed.
