Juvenile Problem
An officer responded to Chipman Hall about six teenage boys carrying water balloons, but when officers arrived, they couldn't find them. Despite searching and reviewing surveillance footage, the boys were not identified or located, and no damage was reported. An officer remained in the area for an hour but was unable to spot the group.

Unsecured Gate
During a routine patrol, an officer discovered the east gate of the Ellsworth Building to be open and unlocked. After ensuring the area was secure and no one was present, the gate was closed and locked to prevent any potential access to the area after hours.

Unsecured Door
An officer responded to an unsecured door at the Cannon Center, discovering that the door striker was stuck and would not lock. Despite multiple attempts, dispatch was unable to reach the on-call Access Services employee but left a voicemail and text message. The officer removed the striker cover and released the striker, allowing the door to be locked properly. A maintenance service request was then submitted to address the issue.

Fire Alarm
BYU Police responded to the Motion Picture Studio for a fire alarm. A BYU Security officer also responded to the area. The security officer conducted a walk-through of the building, but did not locate any signs of smoke or flames. An officer silenced the alarm and notified BYU Technicians to check and reset the system.

Animal Problem
BYU Police responded to Helaman Halls to assist with a rescue of ducklings trapped in a storm drain. An officer successfully freed the stranded ducklings, ensuring their safety.

Accident – Hit and Run
A police officer was dispatched to take a delayed report via phone from a complainant regarding a hit-and-run traffic incident in Lot 32. The officer successfully made contact with the caller, and the case is currently under investigation.

Campus Alarms
During the reporting period, BYU officers responded to eight campus alarms and several lockouts, ensuring campus safety and security.
