Accident An officer responded to a property damage traffic accident at the MPS after Vehicle #1 failed to stop at the main gate's stop sign. The vehicle drove through as the gate was closing, resulting in minor damage to both the gate and the vehicle. No injuries were reported, and no further action was required.
Littering – Discarded Property An officer responded to Wyview Park after reports of several unlabeled laundry bags left behind a complainant's vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer observed the bags, and laundry lacked any identifying marks and noted a substance resembling dish soap on the back of the vehicle. The officer disposed of the abandoned belongings in a dumpster and advised the complainant to wash her car.
Juvenile Problem The BYU Police Department was contacted by an FSY session administrator regarding concerns about inappropriate behavior that took place at the men's commons (MC) during an FSY dance.
Theft An officer responded to a report of a stolen electric scooter from a bicycle rack near the Smith Fieldhouse. The complainant reported that the scooter, which had been locked, was stolen sometime between 12:00 PM on May 25 and 4:00 PM on May 27. When the police arrived, the lock securing the scooter was also missing. BYU Security confirmed that the scooter had not been impounded. The investigation into the theft is ongoing.
Suspicious Bag Officers responded to a report from a faculty member regarding an unattended bag found in the bushes near the loading dock of the Wilkinson Student Center. Upon arrival, they located the bag, identified as containing old food items, which they discarded. The bag was then secured at the lost and found.
Medical Officer responded to HR11 for a medical incident involving a 22-year-old female who had passed out. EMS and Provo Fire evaluated the patient and addressed any medical needs. This was a very minor incident.
Medical A report was made regarding an injury on an outdoor playing field near WYView Park housing units. An adult female sustained a minor knee injury. BYU EMS responded, provided treatment on-site, and the individual was released.
Keep Peace Officers responded to Lot 6 to mediate a peacekeeping situation between two citizens involved in an earlier accident. One individual requested to review video footage before accepting responsibility, having submitted a GRAMA request during the incident. Investigators will follow up with the case.
