Information BYU Police responded to a theft report in Heritage Halls. Upon arrival, an officer interviewed FSY staff and learned that several food and drink items had been stolen from counselor dorm rooms. The officer collected relevant details and spoke with the reporting party (RP). The RP stated they did not wish to pursue charges and only requested that the incident be documented for record-keeping purposes.
Medical Police responded to the Wilkinson Student Center on a medical call. The situation was very minor and was handled by BYU EMS.
Suspicious BYU Police responded to an attempted theft at the CONE store after employees observed a male placing items into a backpack. When confronted, the individual returned the items and exited the store. Police located and spoke with the male regarding the incident, and a trespass warning was issued at the request of the store staff.
Welfare Check Officer responded to Brigham Square near the HBLL for a welfare check upon report of an adult male lying on the grass. Upon contact, the male stated he was okay and simply needed to rest in the shade. No further action taken.
Medical An officer responded to the Intramural Fields regarding an adult male with an arm injury sustained during a sporting event. Provo EMS arrived on scene to provide medical care, and the individual was transported to the hospital via private vehicle for further treatment.
Suicide Attempt BYU Police, Provo Police, and Provo Fire responded to a report of a juvenile male who had run away from FSY and was suspected of self-harm. The juvenile was located and subsequently transported to Utah Valley Hospital for medical evaluation and psychiatric treatment.
