Waterflow – Alarm An officer responded to a water flow alarm at the MTC, where security had already inspected the building and found no signs of fire, smoke, or water. After consulting with the on-call electrician, the officer reset the system panel. The electrician then arrived to assess the panel, as this issue had occurred multiple times in recent weeks.
Fire – Alarm The BYU Police Department responded to an audible fire alarm at WY Mount Terrace Building 15E. Dispatch reached out to the apartment’s residents, who confirmed the alarm was triggered by a cooking error. An officer arrived, silenced the alarm, and arranged for a fire alarm technician to reset it later.
Medical An officer responded to a medical call involving a bishop who became lightheaded after teaching a class and standing for an hour. The bishop had recently undergone surgery and was feeling unwell. He was transported to a medical facility in a personal vehicle for further care.
Trespassing – LaVell Edwards Stadium Dispatch reported a motion alarm from the 3rd floor, prompting officers to search the area. They stopped two 19-year-old male suspects who had jumped a concrete wall into the LaVell Edwards Stadium, entered through an open door into the loge area, and consumed some soda from a fridge. The suspects were cited for trespassing and theft and were escorted off the property.
Suspicious Circumstance A security guard reported individuals on the BYU campus field near the RB. Officers responded, spoke with the individuals, and escorted them off the field. No arrests or further police action were required.
