Disturbance Police officers responded to a call at the CANC regarding loud engines and fast-driving vehicles. The complainant reported that the vehicles had left, but a dark-colored Audi remained nearby. Officers checked the area and did not locate the vehicle, while camera footage indicated no excessive speed or identifiable plates. Due to a large student gathering, an officer continued to monitor the area for safety.
Fire – Alarm The BYU Police Department responded to an alarm at the BNSN building, originating from room W112. Upon arrival, officers were assisted by faculty to locate the fire panel. Although the alarm was initially silenced, it reactivated in a different room. A fire technician determined that ongoing maintenance work in the building was triggering the alarms and advised temporarily disabling the system until the work was complete, assuring that the sprinkler system remained operational in case of fire. Dispatch was informed of the system shutdown, and the technician arranged for officers to monitor the building periodically throughout the night.
Family Problem Police officers responded to a call at Wymount Terrace regarding a potential family dispute. Upon arrival, they located the individuals involved, who confirmed they had been arguing loudly but assured officers that no physical altercation or criminal activity took place. Both occupants expressed that they felt safe and did not require further assistance. The officers concluded that no crime had occurred and advised the residents to be mindful of their noise levels during future disagreements.
Medical An officer and Provo Fire responded to a medical call at the JSB involving a participant of the FSY program. After evaluation, Provo Fire medically cleared the individual. In accordance with FSY policy, the participant's parent was contacted by phone and agreed to pick up their child.
