Fire – Smoke Smell The BYU Police Department responded to a report of a smoke smell on the 4th floor of the Wilkinson Student Center, specifically near Room 412. Dispatch informed responding officers that the Provo Fire Department and BYU EMS were also en route. While responding, dispatch updated the officer that the source of the smoke was a broiler vent from the second-floor kitchen, located near a window. The smoke had the odor of cooking food. When the officer arrived on scene, he confirmed the smoke was coming from a broiler vent on the roof and found no threat to the building or its occupants. The officer cleared the scene without further incident.
