Welfare Check An officer was dispatched to Budge Hall for a welfare check involving a juvenile sports camp individual experiencing low blood sugar. The camper's parents were unable to wake their child by phone. Upon arrival, the officer contacted the juvenile and connected with the parent via phone. The officer observed the juvenile eat and drink to stabilize their condition. The parent confirmed they were comfortable with what was consumed and declined further medical assistance.
Trespassing Officers responded to Helaman Fields (HLFD) following a report of two subjects who jumped the fence and ran through the field toward Budge. Officers checked the areas around HLFD, Budge, and Miller Park but had negative contact with the subjects. The field was cleared, and the nearby fireworks stand was checked; everything remained covered and undisturbed.
Fraud An officer was dispatched to contact a complainant regarding a fraud case involving her son as the victim. The officer gathered information from both the complainant and the victim, then referred the case to Detectives for further investigation.
Medical BYU Police, BYU EMS, and the Provo Fire Department responded to Wyview Park Building 20 after a couple reported feeling sick and dizzy, suspecting a possible carbon monoxide (CO) issue. Provo Fire Department conducted a check and found no CO readings. All parties cleared the scene without incident.
Medical An officer was dispatched to the WSC for an FSY attendee having chest pain. Provo Paramedics arrived and evaluated the patient. After talking to the juvenile's guardian, Provo Paramedics released the juvenile to the FSY counselors.
Lost Property An officer took a delayed lost property report by phone from a BYU Electric Shop employee who reported losing approximately 10 keys, last used around June 7th at Wymount. The employee had already checked lost and found and notified his supervisor.
Information A juvenile attending FSY on campus reported receiving suspicious messages on his phone. An FSY counselor contacted the police to document the incident. Officers spoke with the juvenile’s mother, who was in the process of reporting the matter to their local police department. The messages appeared to be from an online spammer or scammer. No loss was reported, and the parent had already been in contact with FSY staff and was informed of the police involvement to gather information.
Accident An officer responded to Lot 44 for a property damage accident involving a BYU student employee driving a BYU vehicle that struck a power pole. Provo City Power was requested to inspect damage to a conduit and pinched wiring. An accident report was completed.
Sex Offense An officer responded to HR 15 for a reported sex offense (lewdness) after a victim disclosed that two boys in his dorm had exposed themselves. The victim provided a verbal statement with his father present. Both boys were contacted; one denied the allegation, and the other declined to comment. There were no additional witnesses, and the victim did not request charges. The case was referred to Investigations for further review.
