Accident – Hit & Run A delayed report of a hit-and-run accident, believed to have occurred on September 4, 2025, in the southeastern portion of Lot 26, is currently under investigation. Police contacted a reporting party via phone and gathered available information. Review of some video footage has also helped with some investigative details.
Sick Person An officer and BYUEMS were dispatched to the Music Building for a report of a female in pain. BYUEMS responded and began evaluating the female.
Accident – Hit & Run On September 4th or 5th, 2025, an officer was dispatched to investigate a delayed hit-and-run incident reported in either Lot 37 or Lot 41. Upon arrival, the officer documented the details of the incident but found no leads or suspects to pursue for further investigation.
Information A report was received via a group messenger app regarding suspicious and potentially fraudulent activity. An officer contacted the parties involved by phone to discuss the situation and assess the details related to possible fraud. No monetary loss was reported during the incident. The officer provided education to the parties on safe online practices to prevent future issues.
Found Property An officer was dispatched to the engineering building to take possession of some found property. Prior to arriving at the scene, the officer contacted the property owner and advised him to retrieve his belongings. The owner later arrived at the location and collected his property.
Found Property An officer was dispatched to retrieve property and was instructed to deliver the items to the Lost and Found at the (WSC) Wilkenson Student Center. The officer transported the items to the WSC and handed them over to the Lost and Found desk.
Citizen Contact A report was filed regarding suspicious text messages sent through a chat program, which requested personal information from the complainant. The complainant stated that personal details were divulged in connection with a potential merchandise transaction. No money was exchanged during the incident. The suspect has been identified, blocked, and removed from the group chat. An officer provided the complainant with guidance on internet safety to prevent further incidents.
