Fraudulent – Information The complainant was searching for BYU football tickets online and came across a Facebook account titled "BYU football ticket Marketplace" that appeared legitimate. Through Facebook messages, he arranged to purchase five tickets for himself and his roommates for a total of $150 via Venmo. After making the payment, he received the tickets but soon discovered they were not valid. The Facebook account was later reported by multiple individuals and was taken down. The complainant's bank was able to refund his money. He reported that several others had been scammed by the same suspect(s) and requested this incident be documented. The report has been forwarded to Investigations for further action.
Found Property An officer met with the reporting party at Lot 4, who turned in a lost wallet. The wallet owner is from out of state and not affiliated with BYU campus. Attempts to locate a contact phone number through state records linked to the driver's license were unsuccessful. The lost wallet has been secured and was taken to the WSC lost and found for safekeeping.
Lost Property A student contacted the BYU Police Department after losing several personal items while hiking at the trailhead, including his driver’s license, one debit card, two credit cards, and his student ID. The department has collected all relevant information regarding the lost items and has filed a lost property report to assist in their recovery.
Campus Alarms Over the weekend, officers responded to a total of nine alarms across various buildings, providing assistance to BYU Security.
