Suspicious Circumstance BYU Police Officers were dispatched to a classroom building during the night on report of an alarm tripped from a person exiting the building with equipment in hand. Dispatch was able to identify the individual leaving the property as a BYU professor authorized to be in that building.
Fire Alarm – Gas Smell A police officer and Provo Fire responded to a report of a gas smell outside Club 22 at the LVES. Upon arrival, the officer detected the odor of gas in the area. Provo Fire personnel also arrived and conducted an assessment but did not detect any measurable gas. The Provo Fire captain explained that a nearby gas meter was likely off-venting gas and reassured that there was no cause for concern.
Carbon Monoxide Alarm The complainant reported a beeping alarm in their home, uncertain of its meaning and whether it indicated a problem. The complainant confirmed that no fire or smoke was detected. Provo Fire Department and an officer responded to the scene and determined that the alarm was coming from the carbon monoxide detector. Fire personnel conducted testing and found no CO readings in the apartment. The detector was removed and inspected, revealing that it was out of date and in need of replacement. Dispatch notified the housing authorities, who advised they would respond to address the issue.
Public Peace Officers responded to a noise complaint at Heritage Halls, Building 7. Upon arrival, they observed a three-member band performing Christmas music on the west side of the building. The band indicated they planned to play two more songs before concluding. Approximately 50 students were present, enjoying the performance in a calm and respectful atmosphere.

Theft A victim's electric scooter was stolen from the stairwell of a friend's apartment at Wymount between 9:30 PM and 11:30 PM. The victim did not lock the scooter and had no suspect information. The case has been referred to Investigations for further investigation.
