Officers responded and spoke with the caller and the subject, who was seeking campus employment and appeared slightly distressed about personal issues. The officers provided support and maintained a calming presence. The subject is not affiliated with BYU and was only inquiring about employment opportunities. There were no signs of criminal, suspicious, or suicidal behavior, and no further police action was necessary.

The incident resulted in minor damage to the van’s rear bumper, with no damage to the poles. The driver’s and vehicle’s information were collected and documented as part of the case. The student’s supervisor, who reported the incident, has already begun preparing an internal report for BYU.
Trespassing Three men were found kicking field goals on the Richards Building intramural field, which is private property and restricted when the gate is locked. Despite a posted sign and a locked gate, they admitted to sneaking in through a large gap. I opened the gate, spoke with them, collected their information, and informed them that a warning would be issued in the system.
Robbery Alarm Officers responded to a panic alarm at the CONE, reportedly from the Northwest Register. Upon arrival, no register was found in that area, and the manager suggested the alarm might be from the old store. After checking all alarms, they identified one that had been triggered the previous day and reset it. The area was then cleared.
Suspicious Circumstance A complainant reported smelling burnt marijuana in the parking lot of the Riviera Apartments. Officers conducted a search of the area but did not detect the odor at that time and were unable to locate any suspects. The complainant stated they would call back if they smelled it again.
