Suspicious Person A report was received regarding a suspicious male seen walking up the steps between the Broadcast Building and the Marriott Center Annex. The individual was described as an older man with silver and white hair, a moustache, wearing tan pants, a black hoodie, and carrying a heavily stuffed blue backpack. The complainant noted that the man appeared out of place and suspicious on campus. The area was thoroughly checked, but the subject could not be located. A photo taken from behind by the complainant will be uploaded to the case for reference.
Accident – Hit & Run A rental vehicle from Enterprise Car Rentals was reported damaged while parked in Lot 16, just north of the JKB. The cause of the damage is unclear, whether from another vehicle or an object scraping the car. The driver was provided with a case number to report the incident to Enterprise.
Accident A police officer responded to an accident at the WSC where a vehicle traveling up the ramp in the tunnel/dock area collided with a cement wall and the sliding door area. The incident caused moderate damage to the vehicle and damage to the sliding door frame. The mechanical shop has reported that Lowery Doors will manage the repairs.
Medical A student in the weight room was stretching when he experienced a sudden pop in his back and may have lost consciousness. When medical personnel arrived, he was awake, alert, and standing. He declined transport and was later picked up by a friend.
Fire Alarm An officer responded to a fire alarm activation at the laundry building at Wyview Park. The cause was identified as a malfunctioning dryer that was smoking, but there was no fire or damage. Housing and maintenance personnel arrived to repair the dryer, and the electric shop responded to reset the alarm system. Once it was confirmed to be safe, the officer silenced the audible alarm.
Medical Officers responded to a report of an employee who had fainted and fallen, hitting their head. Medical personnel evaluated the patient and cleared them for transport. The patient was then given a ride to their nearby residence.
Fireworks Dispatch observed male suspects lighting fireworks in the trailhead parking lot. The suspects left in a vehicle but were stopped by officers. They admitted to the firework violation, claiming they were unaware it was prohibited. The suspects were identified and advised of potential charges and the dangers associated with their actions.
