The individual was not affiliated with BYU and had no connection to the university. Police searched the area, but later, cell phone tracking confirmed that the man was in Provo and not near the trailhead. Provo police officers subsequently located him and verified he was safe. No further action was necessary.

Suspicious A police officer was dispatched to Helaman Halls in response to a report of a vehicle driving around the parking lot while yelling profanities out of its window. Upon arrival, the officer was unable to locate the vehicle. The officer remained in the area to monitor the situation in case the vehicle returned but it did not. There is no suspect information available at this time.
Theft BYU Police responded to a report of a stolen bicycle on campus. Camera footage indicates the bike was taken from a campus bike rack. The suspect has not yet been identified. The case will be handed over to BYU Detectives for further investigation.
