Fire Investigation Provo Fire and officers responded to the JKB after a BYU IT employee reported a swollen tablet battery, fearing it might explode. The fire captain disassembled the tablet and safely removed the batteries, which were then properly disposed of.
Unsecured Door During an extra patrol at the Marriott Center, an officer discovered an unsecured, slightly ajar door on the southwest concourse that was not in alarm. The officer promptly closed and secured the door.
Welfare Check A BYU student was reported for making suicidal threats. During a welfare check, he explained that feelings of homesickness and frustration with his girlfriend had led to the threats, but he did not intend to harm himself. He later agreed to seek mental health support and was transported to the hospital, where he checked in with his cousin.
Trespassing A male individual jumped the fence onto MPS property and was wandering on foot. He left the area just as officers arrived; however, he was later located, and received a warning for trespassing.
