Citizen Contact
A third-party report was made regarding a suspicious incident observed by a caller in Brigham Square. The caller described an interaction between an unknown male and female, which they felt may have been unwanted based on body language. No evidence of criminal activity was found, and no other suspicious behavior was reported or observed.

Theft
A report was made regarding the theft of a homemade plywood target used for throwing knives, which was taken from the yard area of a foreign language housing unit. The incident is believed to have occurred within the past week, though the exact time is uncertain. The caller has attempted to contact campus housing, grounds, and security to determine if the item was simply moved. The case is currently under investigation.

Family Problem
An officer responded to a report of a family dispute at the Creamery on Ninth. The individuals involved were in a non-marital relationship with two children together. A conversation about politics escalated, leading to the incident.

Welfare Check
A CAPS counselor contacted dispatch after a student expressed suicidal thoughts over the phone, indicating a desire to end their life using pills. The student was located, cooperative, and transported to Utah Valley ER, where they were placed on a mental health hold for further assessment and care.

Accident
A BYU officer contacted a student who reported finding a note on his car indicating it had been damaged, along with contact information from the other driver. The student had left a voicemail and was awaiting a response. While speaking with the student, the other driver called back and provided insurance details. The two parties successfully exchanged information regarding the incident.

A BYU officer and Provo Fire responded to a report of a smoke smell coming from a furnace closet at WyView. Despite the homeowner’s initial concern, both the fire department and the officer detected no smoke or gas. A BYU maintenance worker arrived with the homeowner and tested the water heater and furnace, but no smell was present during their inspection.
