Fire – Gas Smell
Officers responded to a report of a gas smell on the west side of the ESC. BYU EMS and Provo Fire also arrived to assist. It was determined that the gas meter intermittently releases small amounts of gas through a vent, causing the odor. Fire officials confirmed the situation is normal and reassured there was no cause for concern, as their meters detected no measurable gas in the area.

Accident
A minor two-car accident occurred in the CONE parking lot during parking maneuvers. No injuries were reported, and the damage was superficial. Vehicle 2 was unoccupied at the time. An officer facilitated the exchange of information between the involved parties.

Trespassing
Two BYU students were caught by MTC security attempting to jump the west fence dressed as missionaries. Their plan was to find a sibling currently in the MTC and give her a soda for fun. They were warned about the seriousness of their actions and apologized sincerely. MTC security informed them that their supervisor would be contacted and will speak with them about the incident later. The students were given a ride off the property.
