Welfare Check A welfare check was conducted on a male sitting alone on a bench inside the McKay Building. The individual was described as having long hair, wearing a green shirt, and carrying a Milwaukee tool bag. The complainant noted that the behavior was suspicious due to the subject sitting upright and staring ahead at nothing. After speaking with building employees, it was confirmed that the individual had been seen working in the building previously. Despite efforts to locate him, the subject was not found, and no further issues were reported.
Vehicle Theft A delayed report was filed regarding a stolen rental vehicle used by BYU Athletics, which had not been seen since at least last week. The vehicle was entered into the NCIC national database. It was later recovered in San Leandro, California, where an individual was arrested. The case remains under investigation.
Welfare Check An officer responded to the Brigham Square area alongside a Security Sergeant to check on a female who was dancing and acting strangely. Upon arrival, another officer was already speaking with the female and determined she was not causing any problems.
Lost Property A member of the BYU athlete department contacted the BYU Police Department to report several lost keys. The missing keys are identified by the following key numbers and copies: 9125 (copy #9), 9766 (copy #13), 9237 (copy #7), and 8838 (copy #4).
Accident BYU police received a report regarding a delayed traffic accident in Lot 59. The complainant explained that at the time of the incident, both drivers exchanged information, but she has been unable to contact the other driver since then. The officer is currently working on the report and attempting to reach the other party.
Accident A BYU officer responded to a minor PD accident at Lot 6. The officer documented the incident and provided both parties with exchange documents.
