Accident
The complainant was attempting to parallel park and inadvertently got too close to a nearby vehicle, resulting in a small scrape on the driver's side rear bumper. The owner of the victim vehicle could not be contacted at the time, so a note was left on the vehicle, and the incident was documented for record-keeping.

Medical
A report was received regarding an adult female who may have sustained a head or shoulder injury. An officer responded to the scene on Campus Drive, where BYU EMS and Provo Fire/EMS also arrived. The female had crashed her scooter while entering the roadway. She was transported by BYU police to the Student Health Center urgent care for shoulder pain.

Criminal Mischief
An officer was notified of a large paint spill in Lot 40, located just north of the TNRB. Upon reviewing surveillance footage, the officer observed two individuals, believed to be students, working on an art project. The footage shows them intentionally splattering paint on a poster board before leaving the scene without cleaning up the mess. Grounds personnel have been advised of the need for cleanup, and the officer will follow up to identify the individuals involved. Additionally, surveillance footage has been requested from the Security Department for further investigation.

Accident – Hit and Run
A police officer responded to Lot 26 following a reported hit-and-run incident witnessed by a third party, who provided details about the suspect vehicle and driver. The officer successfully located and identified the at-fault driver, collected the necessary information for the driver’s exchange, and completed the report. The driver was issued a citation to Provo Justice Court for leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report.

Found Person
Officers responded to a report of a possibly distressed 7-year-old boy seen walking toward the Bean Museum from the CSC approximately ten minutes earlier. After checking the area and the museum, which was populated with several groups of young men, officers coordinated with dispatch to review video footage of the incident. The footage showed the boy joining a group of boys and three adult males before leaving the scene in a vehicle. The video indicated that the child did not appear distressed and displayed no concerning behavior. The complainant confirmed that the individual in the footage was the same boy they had reported.

Found Property
A BYU officer responded to the SFH for a found wallet. The officer called the owner and was able to return the wallet.

Fire – Gas Smell
Officers responded to a report of a natural gas odor at Wyview Park. Provo Fire Department also checked the unit and found no methane or carbon monoxide readings, despite the smell being present just inside the door. The fire personnel saw no safety concerns and advised the tenants they could re-enter. To ensure safety, the building RA contacted maintenance for further inspection. One tenant mentioned experiencing a very slight headache but stated it was unclear if it was related to the odor and declined medical attention.
