Medical Officers and Provo Fire responded to HLCH for a medical incident involving a patient who was shocked while unplugging a keyboard a few hours earlier. The patient complained of a headache but was medically cleared and not transported. They reported touching the metal prongs of the plug, which were stuck, and noted there was no exposed wire or electrical malfunction.
Unconscious An officer assisted a student who was experiencing nausea and had passed out multiple times, hitting their head each time and causing pain. Medical staff from Provo Medical evaluated the student and found no immediate concerns but recommended further evaluation. The student decided to wait until the clinic opened in the morning to be seen.
Medical A student near the LSB fell and twisted her ankle. BYU police and EMS responded to the scene, and after assessment, the officer provided her with a ride back to her apartment at Heritage 6. EMS advised her to seek medical attention at the student health center if the pain continued.
Juvenile Problem Two juveniles found truant from Centennial Jr. High were spotted hanging out at the Museum of Culture and People on BYU Campus. An officer contacted and identified them, issued a warning about their truancy, and later notified their mother and the School Resource Officer.
Suspicious A vehicle was reported to be running and parked in the front row of the Harmon building. The complainant was unsure if anyone was inside the vehicle. The area was checked, but the vehicle could not be located.
Accident Officers responded to a possible hit-and-run in Lot 4. Upon contact, both parties were cooperative, and driver exchange information was completed. The incident was determined to be a non-reportable accident.
Accident Yesterday morning in Lot 45, a collision occurred between two vehicles. One was traveling southbound when it collided with another vehicle that had entered an aisle, resulting in moderate damage to both vehicles. The drivers exchanged information at the scene; however, due to conflicting accounts of the incident, a formal report has been requested for further investigation.
Suspicious Officers responded to the southeast side of the Marriott Center (MC) after a group of students had set up tents to camp overnight in line for the BYU devotional the next morning. Upon contact, the students, who were already cold and prepared to return to their apartments, were advised accordingly.
