Abandoned Vehicle A complainant reported two abandoned vehicles, an older Jeep Cherokee with expired registration and a homemade truck bed trailer—parked side by side in the Wymount Terrace parking lot between units 9 and 10. Both vehicles have semi-flat tires and debris around them, indicating they haven't been moved in some time. The Jeep has a parking ticket from December 2025, but the owner has not responded to contact attempts. The complainant expressed frustration over the vehicles occupying limited parking spaces and noted that BYU parking and the housing authority have declined to take action, citing low priority. It was explained that without a request from housing, the vehicles cannot be tagged or towed on private property. The complainant plans to follow up with housing again.
Property Damage A report was filed regarding damage to a drinking fountain on the 1st floor of the ESC annex. An officer responded to the scene and contacted building maintenance. Damage was observed, and photos were taken and attached to the incident report. Security camera footage is currently being reviewed as part of the investigation.
Welfare Check A BYU officer responded to a welfare check at the RB after a complainant reported a seemingly sad and unresponsive individual. Upon contact, the subject stated they were fine, wanted to be alone, and did not wish to speak with CAPS or express any suicidal thoughts. A friend arrived, sat with the individual, and the subject indicated a preference to speak with their friend, requesting the officer to leave. The officer then stepped back and waited nearby. Later, both the subject and friend confirmed that everything was okay and that they would reach out if they needed assistance.
Duress Alarm Officers responded to a duress alarm at the Taylor Building on BYU campus. Upon arrival, they found the reception area unoccupied and were unable to determine the cause of the alarm. No suspicious activity was observed.
