Theft
Officers responded to a report of theft in the 2nd floor weight room at Smith Field House, where a student’s wallet was stolen. Video evidence revealed a suspect stealing from multiple wallets in the gym’s cubby area. The suspect was identified, contacted, and admitted to taking the money. He was also linked to a previous theft case from last week. The suspect was charged with two counts of theft and released, with ongoing efforts to identify additional victims.

Property Damage
A police officer returned a call to a complainant who witnessed a male driver backing his car into a traffic bollard in the parking lot of the Joseph Smith Building on BYU campus. Both the vehicle and the bollard appeared damaged from the impact, and the vehicle then left the scene. The complainant provided a license plate number, which suggested the vehicle was operated by a delivery person. Currently, there is limited suspect information available.

Medical – AED Alarm
An officer responded to the CSC after an AED alarm was triggered. The shift supervisor explained that the AED box had been accidentally knocked off the wall by a cart. Upon inspecting the box, the supervisor attempted to remount it, but the alarm continued to sound. The supervisor notified their manager of the incident, and the officer requested dispatch to submit a service request for the AED box to be remounted on the wall.

Suspicious
Officers responded to the Wilkinson Center following a report of a suspicious male possibly filming or photographing students dancing in the ballroom. The male had left the area before officers arrived. After a thorough search of the building, he was not located. Several students were interviewed, and none recalled seeing the male do anything beyond watching the dance. The building was checked a second time, but the individual was not found.

Found Property
While at the Wilkinson Center on another call, a wallet was discovered on a chair with no one nearby. Inside, there was a student ID and a contact phone number. After leaving a voicemail, the owner returned the call, confirming they were at home and hadn't noticed the wallet was missing. The wallet was then taken to the student's residence and successfully returned.
