Sick Person A call was received at May Hall where officers and Provo Fire responded to a report of a sick individual. The patient, visiting from out of state, was there to give her sister a ride to class. She had been feeling unwell since the previous day and was found on the floor, feeling like she might pass out. Provo Fire assessed her condition and transported her to Utah Valley Hospital for further medical evaluation.
Medical A three-year-old boy sustained a head injury after hitting the back of his head on a wall-mounted display case at the Smith Fieldhouse. There was bleeding from the injury, which had mostly ceased by the time emergency units arrived. The boy received treatment from BYU EMS on-site and was not transported to the hospital.
Accident A police officer responded to the station to file a late report regarding a traffic accident. The complainant, a passenger in a vehicle driven by their spouse, reported that their vehicle was rear-ended earlier that morning. The involved drivers had exchanged necessary information at the scene and requested a case number for documentation purposes.
Duress Alarm A duress alarm was triggered at the Creamery, with two panic buttons depressed simultaneously. One button was located behind the counter near the grill area, and the other was in the self-checkout lane. It was reported that the alarm at the self-checkout had been active for some time, raising concerns about its functionality. Security dispatch confirmed that both panic alarms had registered on their system. The building is new and IT will check into the problem.
Found Property A cell phone was found in the parking lot by the Smith Field House. There was a driver license inside the phone case. The owner was located and the phone was returned.
Accident A possible hit-and-run incident was reported in Parking Lot 45. Officers contacted the complainant by phone, who indicated she noticed minor damage to the front driver's side fender of her vehicle. Video footage from two angles was reviewed, but it did not show her vehicle being struck while parked in the lot. The complainant believes the damage may have occurred earlier at the Glenwood apartment complex, where she was parked earlier in the day. She plans to contact Glenwood Apartments and Provo police regarding the matter. The damage was minor and deemed non-reportable.
Medical BYU EMS and BYU police were dispatched to WSC regarding a shoulder injury. The patient, who was participating in a jujitsu session, reported injuring their shoulder during the activity. BYU EMS provided treatment and, following protocol, released the patient to a roommate.
Welfare Check A BYU police officer responded to the indoor Tennis Court building after a female student using the SafeWalk app failed to end her session upon arrival. The officer located the student, confirmed she was safe, and notified dispatch.
Accident A BYU officer responded to Lot 48 regarding a hit and run incident. The vehicle owner reported parking their car on March 3rd at 6:50 PM and returning at 9:30 PM to find damage on the driver’s side. Despite checking available surveillance cameras, neither dispatch nor the officer could locate footage of the accident. An accident report was filed.
