Waterflow Alarm At the BYU physical facility's north building, a fire alarm was triggered due to a water flow issue. BYU police and EMS were dispatched to the scene but were canceled before arriving, after dispatch received information that personnel on-site were testing the alarm systems and had not informed dispatch. The alarm was determined to be a false alarm.
Theft A caller reported a stolen bicycle. Officer made contact with the caller and, upon inquiry, the caller located the bike at a previously parked spot. No further action was taken.
Welfare Check The BYU Police Department received a call from a student's parents requesting a welfare check after a person reported finding the student's cellphone in the Provo River while fishing. Officers located the student at her apartment, and she used an officer's phone to inform her parents that she was safe. The officers then coordinated with the individuals who found the phone to arrange its return.
Duress Alarm A silent alarm was reported at Brimhall Building 280. Officers responded to the scene and found Access Services alarm staff working on the system. No signs of criminal or suspicious activity were found, and no further action was taken.
