Suspicious An officer contacted a BYU Teaching Assistant in the Tanner building. The TA reported that when she arrives at work on Monday and Wednesday mornings, there is an odor in the room that she believes may resemble that of controlled substances. When asked if she has ever smelled or recognized the scent of controlled substances, she replied that she has not. The officer requested that she contact dispatch the next time she detects the odor, so that they can determine if it is drug-related.
Trespassing Trespassing, South of HBLL; There was a small demonstration near Lot 4. Security requested assistance from the police. Officers responded to assist; however, the issue was ultimately resolved by security personnel.
Lost Property A complainant reported the loss of two keys over a year ago: key 3115, a copy for the stadium's lost and found, and key 5428, copy #9. Although the keys were previously reported missing to the key shop and have since been replaced, the complainant is unsure of their exact location at the time of loss. The key shop advised the complainant to file a report with the BYU Police for their records.
Lost Property BYU Building Care at the Music Building conducted their yearly key inventory and reported that they were missing five keys. The officer took the report and this information was sent to the key shop.
Criminal Mischief An officer met with a complainant regarding a case of criminal mischief that occurred earlier that day between 1328 hours and 1620 hours. The vehicle in question is a Tesla that sustained key scratches, which the complainant believes were inflicted during this time frame. The scratches appear to be consistent with intentional damage. The officer reviewed camera footage and confirmed that no one approached the vehicle while it was parked in Lot 19.
Robbery – Alarm An officer responded to the Wilkinson Center following a report of a robbery alarm at the distribution center. Upon arrival, the officer contacted the employees, who indicated that the alarm had been triggered accidentally.
Medical BYU EMS and Police responded to the LSB after a caller reported that a female had fallen down the stairs, injuring her ankle. The patient was treated and evaluated by the EMTs before being released. An officer provided the patient and her brother with a shuttle to the patient's apartment, located south of campus.
