Suspicious BYU police officers responded to Helaman Halls following reports of a male approaching individuals suspiciously. A similar incident had occurred earlier at the Richards Building. Officers conducted extra patrols in the area, but the suspect was not found.
Agency Assist A joint effort between BYU officers and Provo police was conducted to locate a Provo resident threatening to harm his girlfriend. The suspect, known for possessing a gun and with a history of threatening suicide, was found near his residence in Provo and taken into custody. BYU officers assisted in searching and patrolling the area to ensure safety.
Medical A student experienced tingling in his arm and face as he began a final exam. Provo Medical responded, examined him, and determined he did not need hospital transport since his symptoms were subsiding.
Fire – Gas Smell Officers responded to a report of a possible natural gas smell in Heritage Building 4. Upon investigation, it was confirmed by Provo Fire that the odor was not natural gas and the situation was resolved.
Accident A BYU police patrol vehicle was struck by a Provo fire truck near Heritage Halls while responding to a call. The patrol car sustained damage to the left driver-front fender. The Highway Patrol was notified, and a trooper responded to file a minor accident report. Provo Fire acknowledged responsibility for the incident.
