Theft A BYU campus officer returned a call to a complainant reporting the theft of his blue Trek bicycle, which was locked at the Merrill Hall bike rack. The complainant last saw the bike in January or February and only noticed it was missing while moving out. Due to limited description and the broad time frame, identifying a suspect through surveillance footage remains challenging. The officer will continue reviewing camera footage and will update the case if any relevant evidence is found.

Drugs During patrols at the Y Trailhead parking lot, officers asked vehicles to leave as the lots were closing. When an officer approached a red pickup truck, the occupant opened the driver's door, revealing a strong odor of marijuana. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered a marijuana vape belonging to a passenger and a nicotine vape owned by the underage driver. Additionally, a two-year-old child was found in the back seat without a car seat. The driver was cited for minor possession of nicotine and failing to restrain her child, while the passenger was cited for marijuana possession. Officers waited with the individuals until family arrived with a proper child restraint. The case will be forwarded to the Provo City Attorney's Office for review of charges.
