Lost Property Officers responded to the Tennis Court Building regarding a stolen scooter. The owner, a tennis player, had left the scooter while working out and was driven back to their car without retrieving it. When they returned today, the scooter was missing. Surveillance footage revealed that custodial staff had taken the scooter and stored it in the custodial office within the Field House. The officers were able to locate the scooter and return it to its owner.
Found Property An officer responded to the Smith Fieldhouse after an employee reported finding and turning in a lost wallet to the lost and found. Contact was made with the wallet's owner, who stated he would come to the JKB office the following morning to retrieve it.
Family Problem Officers responded to a report of a possible family problem at Wymount Terrace. Upon arrival, they found a calm scene and separated the husband and wife. After investigating, officers determined that no criminal activity had occurred. It was also found that the husband had harmed himself, and he was transported to the hospital for an involuntary mental health evaluation. The chief of police and victim's advocate were notified of the incident.
Lockout A BYU officer responded to the Ellsworth Building to assist an individual who was locked inside the west gate and unable to exit. However, the individual was able to leave the area prior to the officer's arrival.
