Suspicious Person
The BYU Police Department responded to a report of an individual carrying a knife on 800 North, who had just entered the LSB. Using surveillance cameras, dispatch guided officers to the person's last known location. Upon locating the individual, officers discovered he was a BYU student involved in dissecting a bear's head in one of the LSB labs.

Accident – Hit and Run
A complainant reported that her rental car was hit overnight. She parked the vehicle in Lot 45 around 5:30 PM on April 29, 2026, and returned at 9:30 PM to find damage on the passenger side. No suspect information is available at this time.

Accident – Hit and Run
A BYU security officer noticed a vehicle in the parking lot that appeared to have been recently hit. The officer contacted BYU police, who responded to assess the damage. After documenting the incident and speaking with the vehicle owner by phone, it was confirmed that the vehicle was undamaged prior to parking. Camera footage captured the collision and tracked the offending vehicle, capturing its license plate number. The vehicle owner was subsequently contacted, and all relevant information was gathered to assist the victim.

Duress Alarm
A security officer was dispatched to the Data Center in response to a duress alarm. Upon arrival, the officer reviewed camera footage and found no signs of distress or any issues, confirming that everything appeared normal and the alarm button had not been pressed. The officer informed security that the alarm was malfunctioning.

Accident
A minor accident occurred in Lot 20 on the BYU Campus involving a BYU van and a Tesla Model 3. The van pulled into a parking space and collided with the rear of the Tesla. Both drivers exchanged contact information and documented the scene with photos.

Medical
A woman was reported to have fallen and been injured on the sidewalk near the Fine Arts Building. BYUEMS and Provo Paramedics responded to the scene, evaluated her, and learned from her friends that she would be taken to a nearby instacare. Officers provided a ride for the woman to ensure she received further medical attention.

Robbery Alarm
A silence alarm was triggered at the Cone. Officers responded but found no issues, and employees were unaware of who had activated the alarm. The alarm was successfully reset.

Citizen Contact
The complainant believed she parked her green Kia Telluride with Utah plate 3GXF2 in Lot 45 this morning for the Women's conference. Upon returning, she was unable to locate her vehicle. Officers searched Lot 45 and nearby areas but could not find it. The vehicle was eventually located at 3:00 pm the following day in Lot 44, parked on the grass.
