Medical
A BYU officer responded to a medical incident at the library involving a student employee who was accidentally cut by glass from a broken window during construction work. The student momentarily passed out from shock. BYU EMS and Provo Paramedics provided first aid, and the student was later taken to the BYU Health Center for stitches and additional care.

Property Damage
A complainant reported a crack in the windshield of his 2014 maroon Kia Optima (California plate 8JZR146) after returning to his parked vehicle in lot 53. He was unsure of the cause and requested a review of surveillance footage. However, the available video did not provide a clear view, and no maintenance or ground crew activity was observed between 0930 and 1000 on May 6, 2026. The complainant was informed of the findings and provided a case number. A photo of the windshield crack is attached to the case.

Information
A wallet was reported stolen from the campus print shop. The owner was advised to cancel cards and contact relevant entities for replacements. Surveillance footage is currently under review.

Duress Alarm
A duress alarm was reported in the Wilkinson Student Center. Officers checked the alarm box in this room and other rooms within that office, but none of the alarms appeared to have been activated. No other issues were reported. The incident was passed on to dispatch to inform security in case it becomes an ongoing concern.

Accident
A vehicle traveling south toward the south exit of Lot 45 on BYU campus failed to notice a small aisle indicator sign with a plastic bumper. The vehicle struck the sign, bending it to the side, but the sign appeared undamaged. The vehicle received a minor scratch, likely removable with buffing. The driver stated she did not see the sign prior to the collision.
