Unsecured Gate During a routine patrol of Helaman Halls and Miller Field, an officer discovered the south man gate to Miller Field left open and unsecured. The officer closed and secured the gate, ensuring the safety and security of the baseball field.
Medical BYU Police responded to the Smith Field House to assist a person with a dislocated shoulder. BYU and Provo EMS arrived on scene, evaluated the individual, and transported him to the hospital for further treatment.
Citizen Contact BYU Police responded to a report of possible criminal mischief in Lot 41 after a vehicle owner discovered a glue or paint-like substance deliberately applied to their truck while unattended. The owner was able to remove the substance without damage and requested officers review camera footage for suspect identification. However, officers found that no surveillance cameras covered the area where the vehicle was parked, and no suspects were identified.
Suspicious BYU Police responded to the Tanner Building after a report of suspicious males acting abnormally and hiding in the bushes. Upon investigation, officers determined the individuals were simply using the area privately to smoke cigarettes, with no illegal activity involved. The complainant was informed of the findings, and the case was closed.
Fire – Inspection Officer responded to Wymount 17 regarding a vehicle fire report. Upon arrival, they found the vehicle and its registered owner; the vehicle was not on fire. The owner explained that the car leaks oil and smokes slightly.
Medical BYU Police and Provo Fire responded to the Richards Building Field intramural field after a player reported a shoulder injury. EMTs treated and evaluated the individual on-site. The individual was released.
Suspicious Circumstances Officers responded to East Campus (Wasatch Elementary School) following an anonymous tip about three or four Latino juveniles, mostly dressed in black, possibly vaping near the building. After checking the exterior and interior, they found no one matching the description. Conversations with the building manager and custodial staff also yielded no sightings. As the report was anonymous.
Found Property A building care employee discovered a wallet while cleaning the baseball stadium after a game. An officer identified the owner and contacted the owner.
