Criminal Mischief
Officers responded to a report of criminal mischief at the JRCB, where writings expressing opinions on immigration and current national issues were found on whiteboards. Custodians initially noticed the messages, but by the time officers arrived, the writings had been erased. Employees provided photos and a video documenting the incident, which were added to the case file. No suspects or cameras in the area have been identified.

Civil Problem
A law enforcement officer responded to the WSC regarding a civil issue involving a student and the ID Center. The student was asked to leave and inquired about the reason. The officer met with both parties, arranged a temporary resolution, and submitted a ticket to OIT for a long-term solution.

Laundry Theft
A police officer responded to a report of a possible laundry theft. After reviewing surveillance footage, the officer identified the suspect, whom the complainant recognized. The complainant confirmed she recovered her laundry and clarified that the incident was a case of mistaken identity.

Accident
An officer responded to Lot 20 after a vehicle reportedly hit a parking lot sign. The driver explained that he pulled through his parking space and turned too quickly, hitting the sign with the passenger door. No injuries were reported, and the damage was minimal—the sign broke at its base, and the vehicle sustained minor damage.

Theft
Officers responded to a theft report at the Wilkinson Student Center, where an unknown suspect stole a driver’s license, credit cards, and cash from a backpack left in a bathroom stall. The victim returned to find the items missing. Possible suspects were identified and interviewed. The case is under investigation.

Medical
An officer responded near the WSC to assist an FSY attendee feeling unwell. Provo paramedics evaluated her and advised her to visit urgent care, but her mother declined transportation. The attendee was ultimately left in the care of FSY staff.

Traffic Offense
A campus police officer responded to a delayed traffic report involving a motorcycle driving on campus sidewalks. BYU Security observed the motorcycle entering campus and noted that the rider appeared to be taking graduation pictures with it. Using License Plate Recognition (LPR), security identified the motorcycle's registered owner. The officer left a message for the owner to return the call for further investigation.

Theft
A student reported that their scooter was taken from the Heritage 5 bike rack sometime on Saturday night. The scooter was not secured to the rack. Security video will be reviewed for follow-up.
