Fire Alarm An officer responded to multiple fire alarms on the first floor of the Benson Building. Upon arrival, they met with a BYU electrician who was attempting to reset the alarms, which continued to go off. Contractors were on-site, pulling new wiring and servicing the alarm system.
Citizen Contact A citizen contacted police after her apartment door unexpectedly opened around 3 PM while she was at home with her son. Believing her husband was entering, she did not observe or describe the individual. She mentioned that she typically does not lock her door and suspects unauthorized entries have occurred before. Officers advised her to secure her residence with locks, alarms, and cameras when permitted by apartment policies. No suspect description was available.
Noise Complaint An officer responded to a noise complaint at the USB after a resident living across the street reported persistent noise from a semi-truck refrigerated trailer docked at the facility. The trailer had been operating continuously, with the reefer running 24 hours a day. The resident had previously raised the issue several days ago. During the response, the officer learned that BYU Risk Management was currently testing the decibel levels related to the complaint.
