Fire Alarm – Bean Museum Officers responded to a fire alarm report, conducted a thorough inspection of the building, and found no signs of fire or smoke. The alarm was acknowledged and silenced without incident.
Duress Alarm A duress alarm was triggered at the Music Building ticket office in Room 2019. Officers responded promptly and discovered that an individual had pressed the alarm button unintentionally, unaware of its function. The alarm was determined to be false, and no further action was required.
Welfare Check – Possible Disorderly Conduct A report was received about a suspicious male acting strangely and yelling near the west side of the Marriott Center. The individual was described as a white male wearing either a white or dark t-shirt and dark jeans. The area was thoroughly checked, but the subject was not found, and no further issues were reported.
Medical Assist BYU officers responded to the Joseph Smith Building courtyard after an FSY participant passed out. They found her awake and talking with medical staff, who learned she has Crohn's disease and that passing out is not unusual for her. After a brief assessment, medical personnel released her to her FSY counselor.
Accident A vehicle traveling through Lot 4 west of the Crabtree Building attempted to park but misjudged the space, causing its right front corner to strike the left rear corner of an unoccupied, legally parked vehicle. The driver of the first vehicle reported the collision to BYU Police, who arrived on scene to assess the situation. An accident report was filed.
Criminal Mischief – Vandalism Vending Machine BYU Police responded to a vandalism report inside Merrill Hall at Helaman Halls. A BYU employee discovered that someone had jammed a door, causing damage to a vending machine and allowing the theft of multiple bottles of soda. No suspects have been identified at this time.
Fire Alarm BYU Police responded to the JKB for a fire alarm. Officers searched the area, but found no flames or smoke anywhere in the building. BYU technicians were notified and advised that they were aware of the alarm and advised it was faulty and needed repair.
Robbery Alarm BYU Police responded to a duress alarm at the CONE. Upon arrival, they confirmed no emergency was in progress, and inspection of the alarm buttons showed none had been pressed. This information has been relayed to dispatch for potential repairs or replacement of the alarm sensor.
Theft A Phantomgogo brand scooter was stolen while parked at the bike racks at Miller Park. No suspects or additional details are available at this time.
