Beam Alarm An officer responded to a beam alarm in the ESC tunnel and discovered several BYU Physical Facilities employees conducting routine maintenance to repair a hot water pipe during normal working hours. No issues or suspicious activity were observed, and the officer relayed the situation to both police and security dispatch before clearing the call.
Medical A BYU officer and Provo Fire responded to HR #12 for an FSY participant who had fainted. After evaluation, Provo Fire medically cleared the individual. The participant’s parents were notified, and the individual was able to continue participating in the FSY program.
Information An officer received an online report of a person dumping debris into the Brewster dumpster. Upon investigation, the officer determined the individual was a Brewster building employee properly disposing of materials, and no misuse of the dumpster by the public had occurred.
Information A BYU employee reported receiving a fraudulent text message from an unknown sender impersonating their supervisor and requesting gift card purchases for a supposed drawing. The employee recognized the message as a scam and reported it, preventing any financial loss.
Duress Alarm An officer responded to a duress alarm at the CONE north register. Dispatch indicated the alarm appeared accidental based on video review. The officer arrived on scene and reset the alarm with no further issues.
Found Property An FSY counselor turned in a found debit card located on Phillips Drive just south of the Marriott Center. The owner was contacted and will retrieve the card from the JKB the following morning.
