Accident – Hit and Run A BYU employee reported that his vehicle had been damaged and suspected the incident occurred on BYU campus. The officer and the employee reviewed security footage from Lot 13, where the vehicle was parked; however, the area where the vehicle was located was not captured on camera. Dispatch continued to review additional footage but was unable to identify any relevant activity or evidence related to the reported damage.
Traffic Control BYU Police responded to a call near Lot 45 on University Avenue to assist with traffic control following a paint can spill in the roadway. University employees were on scene working to clean up the spill to prevent damage to passing vehicles. Officers remained present to maintain traffic flow while the cleanup efforts continued.
Fire – Gas Smell A security officer reported detecting a natural gas odor in the area. Provo Fire personnel responded to investigate but were unable to detect any smell or signs of natural gas upon inspection. Upon arrival, the officer also did not perceive any odor. The situation was monitored, and no further issues were identified.
Suspicious Circumstance A police officer responded to a report of two suspicious teenage males in Lot 25, suspected of pretending to register for FSY after the event had concluded. Witnesses observed one male urinating in public and noted that the males arrived and departed in a black Tesla, which has not yet been positively identified. This incident is currently under ongoing investigation.
