The alarm panel indicated that a hand pull station had been activated, though dispatch had no record of one. Upon inspecting the station, the officer noted the red solid light signifying an alarm, but the switch inside remained in the normal position. Concluding a possible system error.
Information A BYU Police officer responded to a report of a suspicious male who asked to use a woman's phone. Upon inspection of the area, the officer observed no further concerning behavior or individuals.
Theft A tenant in Wymount Terrace reported his electric scooter stolen from his porch overnight. BYU Police responded, documented the incident, and listed the scooter in NCIC. Currently, no suspects have been identified. Officers are reviewing security footage to identify the offender, and the case has been referred to BYU detectives for further investigation.
CO – Alarm BYU Police and Provo Fire responded to a CO alarm at Wyview Park, finding the apartment unoccupied. After opening the door, fire personnel conducted testing and confirmed elevated carbon monoxide levels throughout the unit. The team ventilated the apartment by opening windows and doors. The incident was reported to BYU Physical Facilities and Risk Management for further action.
Agency Assist A male suspect was reported attempting to break into a vehicle on a Provo street. Described as an Indian male with unkempt hair, wearing a tan shirt and brown pants, and speaking with a thick Indian accent while holding several plastic bags. Despite a thorough search by BYU Police and Provo Police, the suspect was not located.
