CO Alarm
An officer responded to a carbon monoxide alarm at Wyview Park, where two tenants had been alerted while sleeping. One tenant reported accidentally leaving the oven turned on overnight. The tenant turned off the oven and ventilated the apartment by opening doors and windows. The Provo Fire Department measured elevated CO levels, peaking at 23 ppm, but noted they were decreasing due to ventilation. The apartment was cleared as safe, allowing the tenants to return inside. The incident was reported to BYU Risk Management.

Duress Alarm
An officer responded to a duress alarm at the CONE in room 111 (east checkout). Upon arrival, the officer checked all registers and found no issues. The clerk reported that everything was fine and suggested the alarm was a malfunction. This information was relayed to Security Dispatch.

 CO Alarm
An officer and Provo Fire responded to a carbon monoxide alarm at Wymount Terrace. The alarm was triggered while the resident was using a window AC unit during a shower. Provo Fire provided guidance on improving ventilation by opening windows. BYU Risk Management and Housing were notified of the incident.

Animal Problem
An officer responded to a report of kittens located in a receiving area at Lavell Edwards Stadium. The officer found the kittens under a loading dock within a secured exterior area on the south side of the stadium. The animals appeared safe and able to move freely. Facility staff will be notified of their presence.

Unsecured Premises
An officer found the main gate to the NCAA track left open after hours. The officer checked the area and could not find anyone inside of the area. The gate was secured.

Disorderly Conduct
BYU officers responded to a report of individuals throwing water balloons from a vehicle near Lot 25 on BYU campus. A complainant stated he was not struck, though another person in his group was. The involved party declined to pursue charges and only wanted the incident documented. A possible license plate was identified, and the vehicle owner was contacted at their residence. The vehicle owner spoke with their child, who had been driving, and indicated they would address the behavior with their own disciplinary actions.
