Fire Alarm The BYU Police Department responded to an active fire alarm at the Hinckley Center, with the alarm originating from the 3rd floor. Officers arrived alongside a fire technician and determined that painters working on the floor had accidentally triggered a fire sensor with a paint pole, setting off the alarm. After confirming there was no fire, the technician silenced and reset the alarm system.
Medical An officer responded to a report of a female experiencing a seizure in the SWKT building. Before the officer’s arrival, the seizure had stopped, and she was breathing normally. BYU EMTs and Provo Medics arrived on scene, treated her, and then transported her to the hospital for further care.
Found Property An officer responded to the lobby of the JKB for a found property. A staff member found cash near the building at approximately. 1310 hours. There was no information for the owner and the cash was booked into evidence.
Accident BYU Police responded to a minor two-vehicle accident in Lot 8 south of SNLB at approximately 11:00 AM. Both BYU-owned vehicles sustained minimal damage. A report was filed, and risk management was contacted.
Missing Person A 15-year-old male missing from a sports camp was reported to the officer via telephone. The officer located the juvenile at the Cannon Center, where he was found after not attending the afternoon session. The reporting party picked him up from there, and no further action was required.
Fire Alarm A police officer responded to a report of a gas smell at a residence at Heritage Halls. Upon arrival, the officer was unable to detect any gas odor and kept the apartment unoccupied until Provo Fire arrived.
