Welfare Check
The BYU Police Department responded to a report of a missing individual who had been temporarily released from the State Hospital to attend church on campus. A concerned friend, who had brought her to church contacted police after the individual left without her knowledge. Surveillance footage showed the individual getting into a vehicle and leaving campus. Through communication with friends, dispatch determined she was in American Fork on a bridge, threatening to jump. Officers from American Fork and Pleasant Grove responded to the scene, and State Hospital personnel were notified.

Trespassing
An Officer contacted a BYU student on the Richards Building field and asked him to leave as he was trespassing. The field is closed on Sunday. This was an Officer initiated contact while on routine patrol.

Seizures
An officer was dispatched to the Conference Center in response to a medical call involving an individual who had passed out. Provo EMS was on scene and clearing upon the officer’s arrival. EMS personnel reported that the individual likely fainted due to standing up too quickly. After assessment, the patient was released on scene without further medical intervention.

Information
BYU Police were dispatched to the MTC to assist with a possible threatening text message. Upon arrival, an officer found that the texts were not threatening in anyway, and was just a poorly told joke.

Fireworks
An officer responded to a report of fireworks near the LaVell Edwards Stadium. Upon arrival, no individuals were found discharging fireworks in the surrounding lots. Security camera footage reviewed by dispatch indicated the fireworks were being set off several blocks east of the stadium. The officer continued with extra patrols in the area.
