Fire Alarm An officer responded to a heat/fire alarm at the SCS boiler room. Upon arrival, staff reported there was no visible smoke or fire; however, the building had been evacuated as a precaution. A fire technician responded shortly afterward, inspected the equipment, reset the alarm, and found all systems operating normally. No hazards were identified.
Vehicle Theft An officer responded to a report of a stolen golf cart from the Heritage Central Building. Surveillance footage showed three masked individuals taking the golf cart and driving it toward Helaman Halls. Through video review and building access records, officers identified the involved suspects and later recovered the golf cart near the Cannon Center. The suspects voluntarily met with officers, were advised of their Miranda rights, and admitted to taking the golf cart as a prank. They stated that one suspect drove the cart from Heritage to Helaman while the group concealed their identities. After giving another student a ride, they parked the golf cart near the Cannon Center. The golf cart was recovered without damage, and the case was referred to detectives for further investigation.
Medical An officer and Provo Paramedics responded to the MTC for a report of a female who had briefly lost consciousness and then regained consciousness. Provo Paramedics arrived on scene before the officer, assessed the situation, and advised that police assistance was not needed.
Medical Officers responded to Heritage Building 2 for a medical assist involving a female who was experiencing an allergic reaction after accidentally consuming food containing nuts. Provo Fire personnel provided medical care and transported the patient to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Elevator Alarm An officer was dispatched to Heritage Halls on the BYU campus regarding an elevator alarm. An officer responded, determined the cause of the alarm, and confirmed there was no ongoing issue.
