Abandoned 911
An abandoned 911 call was received in the area of Lot 20. Attempts to contact the caller were unsuccessful. Officers checked the area and found no problems.

Accident – Hit and Run
A vehicle was struck while parked on the north side of the Tanner Building, damaging the rear driver‑side bumper and brake light. Surveillance was checked, but no cameras covered the area. The complainant was given a case number for follow‑up.

Accident – Hit and Run
A complainant reported a scratch on her vehicle, possibly caused while parked next to another car. An officer inspected the damage and reviewed the cameras. There was insufficient evidence to determine if the accident occurred here on campus or elsewhere.

Juvenile Problem
FSY staff reported an incident involving three male juveniles. A witness observed two juveniles laughing and engaging in what was described as “sexual acts” with each other. Neither party involved has made a complaint. At this time, there is no victim, and no actual criminal activity has been reported.

Hazardous Conditions
Officers responded to a gasoline spill after a gas can leaked in the bed of a BYU‑owned truck. The can was upright and no longer leaking. A small dried spot was found beneath the truck. There were no issues and no concerns after the can was placed upright.

Breathing Problem
An FSY attendee experienced a panic attack with difficulty breathing and chest pain. BYU and Provo medical personnel responded. The attendee eventually calmed down and returned to normal breathing. Parents were contacted, and she remained in FSY care without hospital transport.

Door Alarm
Officers responded to a door alarm in the BYU Store vault. Employees confirmed there were no issues. The internal vault door appeared to have triggered the alarm after a system update reset its settings. Nothing suspicious or concerning.

Traffic Offense
A report was received of a BYU golf cart being driven fast and recklessly. No surveillance cameras were available to track the cart or identify the driver.

Juvenile Problem
Officers investigated a possible hazing incident involving cutting an FSY participant’s hair. After speaking with the participant and parent, it was determined that the haircut was consensual and done for fun. No criminal activity occurred.

Welfare Check
A complainant reported a couple sitting in a vehicle for an extended period and was concerned about their welfare. No criminal activity was indicated, and the vehicle was gone when officers checked the lot.

Unconscious
A student briefly passed out, so medical personnel responded. She stated this has happened before during anxiety and panic attacks. She felt better afterward and refused medical care from both BYU PD and Provo paramedics.

CO2 Alarm
Officers responded to a carbon monoxide alarm at Wyview Park. Provo Fire and BYU Housing checked multiple apartments. One unit showed 30 ppm and another 5 ppm. No tenants reported symptoms. Provo Fire could not determine the cause. Enbridge Gas was notified and sent a technician, with BYU Housing coordinating on scene.
