Alarm – Waterflow
A BYU Police officer responded to a waterflow alarm activation at the MTC. Upon arrival, MTC security confirmed the alarm was a false activation and requested that only BYU Police respond, as there was no need for Provo Fire involvement. The officer followed instructions, silenced the alarm, and successfully reset the system.

Unsecured Gate – New Arts Building
While on patrol, a BYU Police officer discovered the construction gate to the new Arts Building open and unsecured. The officer conducted a search of the construction site and found no one present. The officer then closed and locked the gate, ensuring the site was secured.

Agency Assist
While driving to the Y Trailhead on 820 North, a BYU Police officer observed a motorcycle lying on its side in the roadway near the intersection of 820 North and Oakmont Lane. An adult male was also found lying in the roadway with significant injuries, and motorcycle debris was scattered around. The motorcycle appeared to be totaled.

The officer immediately notified the BYU Dispatch Center and requested both an ambulance and Provo Police. The injured individual was initially conscious and able to speak but had serious injuries to his legs, hip, shoulder, head, and face. His legs were pinned beneath the motorcycle.

Provo Fire arrived, rendered aid, and transported the now-unconscious patient to Utah Valley Hospital. Provo Police took over the investigation of the single-vehicle accident. Officer Shelby McDonnell also responded and assisted with traffic control at the scene
