Theft An officer was dispatched in response to a reported theft involving a missing backpack. Upon arrival, the complainant stated that her backpack had been stolen. After reviewing security camera footage, it was determined that the complainant had inadvertently left the backpack in a different building. The complainant acknowledged this and stated she would check with the lost and found at that location.
Theft An officer was assigned to investigate a reported bicycle theft at Wymount Terrace, building 5D. The complainant stated that their bicycle was stolen overnight. At the time of the theft, the bicycle was secured with both a U-lock and a chain lock. Despite these security measures, the suspect successfully defeated both locks and removed the bicycle from the location. The serial number of the bicycle is unknown, and there is no suspect information.
Suspicious Officers were dispatched to the Tanner Building in response to a report of a suspicious male. Upon arrival, officers conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the individual. The male is known to officers from previous encounters on campus. At this time, he has not been banned from university property, and no criminal activity was observed or reported during this incident.
Welfare Check An officer responded to the Rivera for a welfare check after receiving information from housing staff that an 18-year-old female may be suicidal. Officers attempted to contact her at the residence and by phone without success. The officer then spoke with the female’s father, who advised that she was safe and had moved to a different housing unit the previous day. He confirmed she was not suicidal and had recently spoken with her, a psychologist, and the housing supervisor to ensure her well-being. He requested that no further action be taken by law enforcement.
Trauma Officers and BYU EMS responded to the intramural field for a report of a frisbee player with an injured ankle. The patient was treated on scene by EMS and released.
